Hey, I'm Sophie

A few years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Began
Moving to Switzerland wasn't in the plans for the long haul. Like many relocations for expats, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something much larger.
The early months were demanding — fresh systems, new routines, new expectations. Routine tasks seemed more complex than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually routines took shape. We found places that fit us, met other families, and started building something that felt steady.
Why I Created Harbor Orchid Trail
Most online information was either corporate relocation guidance or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to fill that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in Switzerland.
